I love this show, one of three white sitcoms I can get into (Other two being Married with Children and Big Bang Theory).

As for the house issue, show started in the late 90s IIRC, they certainty could afford a house in Queens at the time with the jobs they had, also Author could have bought the house many years before the show started.
