Big L had all, great flow, clever punchlines, story telling ability, character and charisma.

If he wasn't killed and signed to Roc, Jay-Z might have retired like he planned to or even Dame would've taken over the Roc depending on which one of them was bringing him in.

Big L was no doubt gonna be a huge star.

King Von isn't similar to Big L has a rapper, but has an artist his trajectory was similar as far as his standing in the culture. He wasn't like other drill rappers, he was being respected as an artist, his songs were more traditional hip hop sounding than other drill songs, story telling on par with Big L's casualties of a dice and game, and his voice cut the track like 2pac.

That's a lot of raw ability, he only had been rapping for 3 years when he got killed, and his older songs from like 2018, pale in comparison to like the latest shyt he had, his advancement was a big leap, so he must have been recording a lot in order to get that much better at rapping, it's shame we couldn't see further development, but I looked forward to the unreleased tracks to undoubtedly surface.

Is it me or did Big L have a wider range of subjects to speak on and he was more different from the average popular rapper in his era vs King Von. Now admittedly, I've never listened to a single King Von song. Of course may he RIP, we don't want to see any brother die. But the snippets I heard, he was in the upper echelon of rappers who rap about: money, guns, dope, hoez etc. Correct me if I'm wrong. Sure Big L rapped about those things too BUT his style stood out among his peers.

RIP to both!

Von had more range than big L, he kinda like Scarface too with his content, he more than a drill rapper

But he got that type of music too

King Von - Wayne's Story (Official Video) - YouTube
