it peaked at 2. In retrospect, they should've ended it after KH2. I'll die on the hill that KH1, CoM, and KH2 were a GOAT trilogy.

After 2, it exploded with the introduction of terra, aqua and ven. That, and they released canonical games on a variety of different consoles and handhelds. It's a complete mess. I don't even wanna play KH3 at all and i was hyped for its release.

and this is coming from someone with the platinum trophy for KH3

The story to 3 was ass cheeks and way too convoluted. But I do give them the combat was nice and most of the world's other than frozen "boring as fukk" were done well and entertaining.

I didn't even know kh2 had this much meta in the fighting system creating a guard loop that does damage is nuts

A nikka will literally break into pieces and then the pieces gain sentience and go live a whole new life, immediately squaring up with the OG when they cross paths


plus they started it on PlayStation 2 then created multiple canon sequels on different systems (including mobile games )


You needed to get a Gameboy advance to see what happened between 1 and 2
a PSP for Birth By Sleep (was the prequel for 1)
a Nintendo DS for 358/2 days
a 3DS for Dream Drop Distance
the phone game Re:coded


We didn't even get an original game for the entire PS3 era half of those games could've easily been on there and did huge numbers
