If teachers were willing to deceive me about khristopher columbus in history class...what else was I lied to about in my 22 plus yrs of schooling:jbhmm:

They openly lie about some shyt that happened 500 years ago in America..

Makes you wonder about the shyt that happened over 500 years ago in far off places.

:pacspit: @ this goddamn cac's comment on an article I was reading about Columbus' true nature

This doesn't even make sense, what does Columbus sailing his ships across the unknown oceans of the world have to to with native americans? He wasn't an invader or threat to the natives they didn't even know existed so why all this hateful resentment to attack an explorer? A recognition day for Indian nations is appropriate but a day to hate some one is not good recognition.

The Indian nations had not progressed on their own for tens of thousands of years while science and civilization were progressing in Europe. I think the Europeans intent to come here was not to war or kill off the natives, they want to live with them and learn from each others ways.

Native Americans are tribal organizations to this day and continue to fight or recognize the value of assimilation in this land that give them what never would have been if Columbus never sailed the seas. It was manifest destiny to bring organized civilization to a land of tribal laws and useless wars. It wasn't amreicans or our governemnt that brought on their suffering. Civilization and peace was something they did not understand.[\QUOTE]
