Homeboy went from making less then 800 grand to making $25 mil over the next 3 years in a state with no state tax and did this by screwing over his previous employers.....shoot I cant hate

But he wanted to stay so how did he screw us ? He thought since the Knicks heard the first offer sheet and were willing to pay why not get some more ? He listened to his agent and publicist turned down 7 figure endorsements so he could get more money once he reupped. So he lost money too he lost millions to gain a few mill ? How is that really smart ? If it was a unmarketable guy id say cool but he is all you have to do is look at the bread David lee made in endorsements on a horrible Knicks teams

Melo said cap hit on the structured contract was ridiculous. Melo making 20 mil cause he earned it the guy puts up hof numbers .of course the Knicks can afford it they didn't want to pay it. He was going to get 21.8 mil dollars originally the Knicks said they'll match any deal and his new agent convinced him to get more since the Knicks would match anyway . He Hired a new agent that would help him market his brand In NYC instead he gets him sent to Houston and loses out on some marketing dollars for a cash grab . How is that a boss move ? He gained a few mil to lose a few mil he would've got in marketing .

Its a boss move cuz he was playing in the summer league this time last year. He got the deal he wanted in a great city. The Knicks broke their promise...they lied to Lin...upset and alienated a good portion of Knicks fans cuz they took a BUSINESS decision from a young man...PERSONALLY. Dude just wants some financial security. If they said they were gonna match the offer...and didnt...then they dropped the ball. I don't hate the Knicks...and they're prolly better off without him. But he's in a better position...more money...less taxes...and pretty much a guaranteed spot in the starting lineup for a team thats actually won a few championships in the last 20 years....instead of fighting 3 other point gaurds for a spot on a low balling, vindictive, franchise with freezing winters and teammates who never really wanted to play with him. Just how I see it.
