Knicks do bring a lot of energy and hype to the NBA. New York is arguably the biggest market. I'll never understand why big free agents or trade destinations aren't requested there. I understand the pressure, but you're basically worshiped if you're even decent. Former players have also said they spare no expense when it comes to taking care of their players. I still think KD and Kyrie fukked up choosing the Nets over Knicks.

I've never understood why the Knicks have been so garbage. They should've been what the Boston Celtics were. It's the largest media market in the US but the team has been an after thought.

Outside of the 90s and the Chris Wallace era of the 00s, the Celtics have consistently had competent management

Red Auerbach is possibly the GOAT basketball executive, Ainge for all his flaws assembled some great teams, Stevens has made great moves. They’ve also had ownership who generally strayed away from going on power trips and meddling

Showtime Lakers were more defined by they're style of play. The Knicks are they're own thing. Use some creativity and leave the Lakers IP alone.

Knicks are in a big market (obviously) but the brand isn't LIKE THAT.

Kinda like the NY Giants. Some historical success and some lean years but nobody outside of the tri$tate area rocking with em like that.

Only reason it will blow up is because sports media is so NYC/LA-focused that they gon try to convince everyone that the whole nation riding for the Knicks.
