Melo would give any nikka thats laughing buckets with ease. Undefined or not, he can get whatever shot he wants on the floor against almost anyone at anytime. HOF players have commented all throughout the years about how Melo is one of the strongest players to defend so all this other stuff is just for giggles. Hoes and babies giggle.

I'll give Melo this. He tries to turn into an effort player every year. But then 1/3 through the season he sees the team going nowhere or the media starts roasting him and he stops.... until it's time to play against LeBron.

He doesn't have the mental fortitude to play like that the whole season. He has to see some incentive. Which is kind of sad for a player of his talent level. But what's new in sports.
Why would you go hard when the organization is not trying either.

Both good points and they interact with each other. Melo has been fat his entire career, been criticized for it and still has never put in a sustained effort to lose weight, let alone lead a team devoid of talent. S
Like for like, Melo's half-arsed attempts to get in shape every season mimic his basketball career. Despite Melo's seeming insifference, He's a tempermental player underneath his sleeves (why does he still wear them? They can't be functional). Melo's confidence matches the Knick's organizations utter failure to help him.

Porzingis is years away. The Knicks give Melo a canister and a bucket of pain, and blame him if he doesnt build them a rocket ship. Melo can't design and build such an achievement on his owns; the Knicks should have recruited more people.

It's funny because he looks slow and unatgletic in his video thats supposed to show the opposite

Melo's game has never been based on overpowering athleticism so anyone laughing at him for looking slow and languid might be uninfotmed.

Melo has one of the prettiest and skill laden basketball styles you'll see. On the perimeter he relies on dribbling technique like shot fakes, jabs, rips and crossovers to set up defenders for pull ups and (once upon a time) drives to the rim.

Melo blended Paul George like a cheap smoothie at times last year. Paul George guarded Melo well at times but couldn't stop Melo's rip, pivot and drop step moves. These are easy buckets for Melo and require little explosive to create. It's all deception, footwork, countermoves and a basket-aligned finish.

Jeff Hornacek’s offense has created a twist on the traditional Iso-Melo play

Sorry... Melo has never been a super ripped athlete, but he hasnt been fat either. When he's wearing regular clothes you can see that. He's just one of those people with very little muscle definition. The same way Kevin Durant looks like he could lift 100 lbs. And maybe he doesn't care about that. But to say he is always fat is not the truth. I think I remember one season where he legitimitately looked out of shape. He really needs to stop wearing all that gear when he's playing though. The dude looks like he has on riot gear every game under his jersey. He's already not that athletic, he doesn't need anything else weighing him down.
