We have a competent GM, he can flip picks into something good and it has already been proven he can build a team that yeilds results, what the knicks hitting for
Actually Rondo would help them a lot. Thats if he can get back to pre-injury form though.But then again Danny Ainge's greedy ass will demand way more than the Nuggets did for Melo

Why are NY cats so gassed up on their team? Its garbage. Just like the Knicks history. Set your expectations a bit lower and you guys won't be so disappointed 
There's no proposal the Knicks could make for Rondo that wouldn't cause a riot in Boston...

So Rondo can force his hand all he wants (which we've got no indication he would/will) but there's no legitimate offer from NY that Danny can accept even if he was desperate to get Rondo off the team.

Hardaway and Shump (to a lesser extent) would be intriguing
They could take all our bad contracts off our hands (Lee, Bass, Wallace) and we'd take back Amare
But Knicks don't have any draft picks to offer in trade til what? 2018? With the type of package the Knicks would offer, the Celtics would need AT LEAST 2 1st rounders.

Rondo's been waiting to take over the team since his rookie year. It was Piru P's team. Then KG and Ray came and he had to make way for the legends. Now that he's the best player on the team it can finally be his team like he's always wanted. If he goes to NY, he's playing second fiddle to Melo.
