Not joking. Does he set any Knicks records?
Holds MSG's scoring record, 7th all time amongst Knicks in scoring, 3rd all time in 3pt made

Mind you, Melo played 7 seasons in NY, with career averages of 24.7ppg & 7rpg. Was 6x all-star, 2x all-NBA, scoring title. But folks act like is bizarre to even have the conversation.

This idea that you have to win a championship to get your number retired is bullshyt

Knicks need to retire Carmelo and Bernard King’s numbers hands down two of the best players in franchise history

YOU nikkaS ALWAYS CREATING
FAKE ARGUMENTS TO PUSH YOUR POINTS.

PATRICK EWING NEVER WON A TITLE
AND HIS NUMBER IS RETIRED.

THERES A HUGE GAP
BETWEEN WINNING A TITLE
AND WINNING ONE PLAYOFF SERIES
LIKE BENARD KING AND MELO

Doesn’t matter they had injuries or the roster construction around them wasn’t shyt. That’s not their fault.

It doesn’t change that fact they’re top 5 players in franchise history.

This is dumb. If they asked him rbaf questions what is he supposed to say, no?

The way this is phrased is like he just brought that up out the blue.

News stories always leave out that they asked a leading question.

Dominique Wilkins has his jersey retired in Atlanta, and he never got out the 2nd round. So why can’t Melo or King get the same respect.

Melo CAN get his number retired in NY... eventually. I think there's a large segment of Knicks fans who need to get over the fact that Melo wasn't LeBron, History will eventually shine on Melo in NY.

The Denver situation isn't happening because of how he left. It doesn't need to be an either /or situation with #15 in Denver, but it's not gonna happen there.

For example. Dwight Howard got inducted into the Magic HOF. Maybe this sets up to where #12 finally goes up as time seems to heal wounds, but 5 players have worn 12 since he left, and they gave #12 to Tobias Harris as soon as they could, cuz they felt a way.
