We're 6th in the west, thanks for asking. Not 1 GM in the league would've passed on that trade. However I don't think you would find many GM's in the league that would've given Amare 100 mill for 5 years. The Suns refused to do it.

Name the 3 teams that were willing to give Chandler the money that he got and then ask yourself has a guy ever chose those cities over NYC regardless of roster. J.R Smith took waaaaay less money just so he could live in NYC and fukk hoes like Tahiry on the regular.
Melo was going to NY either way, regardless of who was on the roster...that was all LaLa. Amare was still in Phx when the rumblings came out of Melo's camp, where he was headed. Amare doesn't change that.
