The New York Knicks will be interested in Pau Gasol in free agency, according to a source.
Gasol won two championships under Knicks president Phil Jackson and would not receive anything close to the $19.3 million per year that he made with the Los Angeles Lakers this season.
Gasol would have to accept the Knicks' taxpayer's midlevel exception of approximately $3.2 million.

Obviously Phil is invested in Odom and wants to give him a chance. There's zero risk. The rules allow the Knicks to monitor his offseason in a way they wouldn't be able to if they just wanted to sign him this summer... and his contract isn't guaranteed.

The kind of low-risk move with potential, that the knicks almost NEVER make.

We shall see. God answers our prayers in 3 different types of ways that i know of. 1st God will flat out answer your prayer. 2nd God will remove a calamity from your future equal to what you prayed for. So if you pray for 1 million dollars, God may remove a million dollar debt from your future. 3rd God will save your prayer for The Day Of Judgment when you need it the most. they are signing him now because of NBA offseason rules. they'd have to wait until a certain time to even talk to him, if it was over the summer. plus other teams could work him out, or he work himself out, and get himself signed somewhere else

also it's to do with the contract.. since technically he's signed this year, they don't have to guarantee his contract for next year.. they can literally sign him for the minimum of this "year", then he's offiicially on the roster to work out, train, see where he's at by next year... and if he isn't any good, they can cut him without paying him for the next season
