:snoop:

I guess my stretch game wasn't as good as I thought. I've had a "knot" in my shoulder blade for a LONG time. I've tried all the little tricks I found on the Internet: laying on a tennis ball, arm circle stretches..all kinda stuff. Shyt won't go away :damn:

Anyone ever experienced these? They're not sore, but more like a nagging stiff spot between the shoulder blade and spine. Mine is on the left side. It doesn't affect my range of motion or anything. Some days are better than others too.

I think it's also causing my neck soreness.

Help brehs :snoop:

Whoa@softball. I have one on my left side, it isnt a knot that i can feel, but just constant stiffness that comes with neck and shoulder aches. I can only use little golf balls, i put them on the ground and work them into that shoulder blade groove, and roll. Larger tennis balls And foam rollers dont do anything for me cause my pain starts deep, under the blade.

I have a monthly massage membership which helps a lot, but since my office desk is L-shaped with 2 perpendicular monitors and i also wear a heavy cup size, both doc and massage therapist says I will always need to work on shoulder blade and neck pain. Im hoping that making my traps stronger will ease the intensity of pain over time.

Has anyone had them massaged all the way out where they didn't return?

I'm doing the golf ball method. There is some relief, but it comes back every time. :beli:

The knot could be from loss of mobility in another area. Try getting some active release therapy/massage

I use the tennisball/golfball, usually takes a while to work but does break up the knot but a massage would cover other areas that arent being taken into consideration when targeting the knot directly

I had one that was gone for over a year. I stole those chair massagers from one of my old jobs years ago and I just sat pressing the knot as hard as I could into the massager. It felt so good to grind the shyt out of the knot. It's years later and I get them from time to time, such a crappy feeling. It doesn't really hurt and it doesn't hinder you from doing anything, it's jus naggy and annoying.

i have. but you have to go regularly and get them addressed before they get to big or they'll come back. i had a HUGE one in my neck right where it meets the shoulder. it was pressed up against my spine in between a couple vertebrates. thought i was gonna need surgery but i didn't after therapy. a few deep tiss. sessions with a good massage therapist and you should be straight.

They could possibly be coming from your neck. A good massage may help. Working on proper posture and strengthening exercises may also help.

Also, when using the tennis ball, put it against the wall instead of the floor. I feel that you have more control that way. With the foam roller, try lifting your arms toward the ceiling and protracting your shoulders while rolling. That may help hit the spot better.

question: was this after a military/overhead press workout? Or even a standing shoulder press that you noticed this :mjpls:

I have had one too for some time
