You're right that Boston would have won, but how you calling Pierce and Allen "flabby" in 2009?

Paul Pierce was 31 and was 2nd-team All-NBA that year. He had THREE more all-star seasons still left ahead of him. He wasn't peaking but he was clearly still great.

Ray was 33 and was an All-Star that year. He was on the decline but he still averaged 18ppg on 48/41/95 splits. Think, that was FOUR years before the Heat picked him up.

Rondo nearly averaged a triple-double in that series and was on the verge of being an All-star regular too. And Perkins was at his height of looking like a competent NBA starter.

The squad was way too shallow though. Hell, even the 2008 title squad had been shallow. They were basically a great starting 5 that begged for their bench to give them a contribution here or there. That's why Garnett's departure (he had been an MVP candidate the previous year) sank them.
