But since this is a tribute I'm give Bean his props because I really don't hate the dude.
Phenomenal player. I remember his first break out game. It was a long time ago but if I recall he had like 30 and 9 playing at the point.
He won the dunk contest straight outta HS.
He started in the All-Star game his 2nd year and he wasn't even a starter on the Lakers yet.
3-peated with Shaq. Can't take away Kobe's contribution. They were unbeatable because they had BOTH. Deadly combination. But you can't have inside and out without the out. He was the best perimeter player in the game.
He outlasted everybody, all of his rivals. Penny Hardaway, Jerry Stackhouse, J.R. Rider, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Allen Iverson, D. Wade... everybody who has come after that "best 2 guard in the league" spot.

I still think Kobe Bryant is the best in the NBA despite his age. I mean not only do i think so but the WORLD thinks so as well. Heres the facts......

Despite his age he could've led the league/playoffs in scoring, but was focused on the bigger picture (championship), and was eliminated early.
Kobe has been in the league since 96 16 seasons and people is tired of seeing him and fed up with the fact that he's not giving the young guns a chance to shine to the point where they are trying to replace him (Lebron Durant). The fact is HE WONT GO AWAY.
People the NBA is going to go through a drastic change once he retires. There is no one in the NBA currently that can match his mental toughness,competitiveness,desire to win,and confidence. He has an old school type personality which stands for I"M A BAD MOTHERfukkER AND I DON"T CARE WHAT THE fukk YOU THINK ABOUT ME, and the NBA is going to miss that.
People prepare for his retirement in 2 years,i am going to be holding back tears once THE GAWD leaves.

I respect Kobe as a basketball player. Say what you want about him, but can't nobody say they weren't shook when their squad was up 2 or 3 points vs Lakers with 10 seconds to go in the 4th, shot clock turned off and Kobe had the ball.
You just expect the game tying shot or the and 1 or the knock down 3 or something. He will definitely be missed once he's gone. That said, I don't' think the NBA will suffer in ratings or views that drastically, there's still plenty of talented superstars in the league.
