Scottie was like 20 years ahead of his time in terms of defensive versatility. The Bulls were a top-5 defensive team every year from '91-'98 and Scottie was the constant. When you talk about the very best defensive players to ever play, Scottie should arguably be the first non-big man to come up.



Scottie takes over at about 2:05. Crazy how he could shift the way a game was going pretty much by himself through his defense and his playmaking. Even though Scottie doesn't really have a reputation as a clutch player, he was super clutch on defense.

I always catch Hell for saying this but Scottie Pippen has always been my personal fav NBA player of all time because he did some of everything, score, shoot, rebound, assist, run the break, drive & defend. I always believed in doing some of everything to make your team win and Scottie embodies that.

Real hoop heads know Scottie Pippen is a top 10 player in NBA history. He might not have the accolades or the stats but in terms of pure ability there aren't 10 better players you would want on your team.

Scottie Pippen is the only player in NBA history that could have held Michael Jordan in check.

A healthy Tracy McGrady is really close to Pippen. But I do have Pippen rated higher.

Both are top 10 all-time on my list of NBA players I've seen.
