Kobe won 2 more titles, 2 finals MVPs, and a regular season MVP without Shaq. I think he proved emphatically that he could have done it without Shaq.
Shaq on the other hand had to ride the coattails of another great SG to his only title without Kobe. And we all remember how he never won with Penny.
Facts are facts. Kobe has had a better career than Shaq and will be remembered as the greater player on the all-time list. Kobe is gonna be top 5 all-time. Shaq on the other hand will be lucky to hold onto a spot in top 10 when LeBron's career is over.

Kobe still had to threaten a trade to get Pau there before he could win again. And though Shaq wasnt what he was by time they got to the Finals, the Heat wouldnt have got there without him. He may not have balled out in the Finals but he should have been the MVP the previous season and still did his thing the next season until the Finals. And even then he still got 14 and 10.
