Actually, the first change in hand check rules were in 1978. the 2nd was in 1994 and last time was in 2004.The handcheck rule change wasnt until 2004. Kobe had just got done averaging 30 a game in 2003. He also averaged 28 and 25 in the seasons preceding.
Negged fakkit![]()
I’m tired of this corny suburban nikka thinking he so hard foh

The NBA is at an All-Time low in foul calls. The only thing the refs do is protect shooters more than ever but they don’t call as much collisions in the paint.
This is just straight up lies man. Free throws sky rocketed the first few years and individual scoring blew up. 06 had 3 players average over 30 and like 12 players average over 25 PPG. It took team scoring a few years to reach what it is now but the refs were blowing the whistle like crazy. Since 2012, the amount of fouls have dropped considerablyTHE RULE CHANGES DIDNT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT
ON THE COURT THOUGH.
THEY GRADUALLY BEGIN CALLING THE GAME DIFFERENTLY
UNTIL IT MORPHED INTO WHAT IT IS NOW.
THE GAME WAS STILL PHYSICAL UNTIL ABOUT 2012
THEN shyt STARTED TO SPRIAL DOWNWARD AT A FASTER RATE.
All that proves is players and coaches have adjusted to the way is called now. You didn't disprove @CHICAGO's point at all. This is just straight up lies man. Why do you guys waste your time with these falsehoods that can be easily disproven?.
Dude, look at the free throw stats, particularly FT/FGA, and look at how it skyrocketed from 04-07. The refs got trigger happy as fukk. The gradual ref adjustment was not calling as much contact. All that proves is players and coaches have adjusted to the way is called now. You didn't disprove @CHICAGO's point at all.
In the NFL when the league wanted more offense they cracked down on the amount of grabbing and contact and PI and holding flags went up subsequently dropped as everyone adjusted to the rules. That ushered in the video game numbers Brees, Brady, Payton and Warner started to put up from the early 2000's to how the game is today.
To even have the option of putting a 19 year old bean pole like Tatum or Ingram at the 4 tells you how ridiculously lacking the physical aspect of the game has gotten. Guys like that would get banged and manhandled into oblivion to the point where it wouldn't even be a consideration.
The inability to be physical when defending the PNR gives the offense an overwhelming advantage as well. Players don't even attempt to fight through a pick so you're relying mostly on switches and rotations that open up the 3 ball. Today's game is called to give every advantage to the offense.
It's a soft game that caters to a soft generation that loves 130-117 games.
cause he didn't get them.... cause the NBA wasn't soft.... 1+1=2Kobe cried for fouls more than any player I've ever seen![]()
nikkas didn't even have flagrant fouls.. nikkas was getting bodyslammed and getting 2 shots and game continuesPlayers adjusted to the softness of the game and stopped playing the hard nosed D, which included hard fouls to send a message![]()

Kobe played a good chunk of his career during this "soft" era himself. So he benefitted too.
Imagine Kobe and mj playing in an era were big men just camped by the three point line and you could drive at will with a pf/sf only one contesting you at the rimWhat Kobe did to the Spurs in the early 2000s, let me know he could not only handle hard-nosed tough physical defense, but can actually thrive in it and play exceptionally well.
