Yes, kobe has stayed near the top since 01, but lets not act like he's been clearly better than Shaq (more finals MVPs), and Lebron (more regular season MVPs), and Duncan (more Finals and Regular Season MVPs).

Durant and Iverson have more scoring titles than Kobe, while McGrady and Shaq have just as many.

Shaq, Iverson, McGrady, Durant, and Rose have just as many regular season MVPs as Kobe, while Lebron has just as many finals MVPs.

Lets just say he's been the most consistent over the longest period of time, but he only had one season where he clearly was the ahead of his peers, and iverson was right on his heels

all this shows is that those dudes blew their loads too quickly. being a top 3 player for 10 straight seasons is ALOT more impressive than t-mac or ai having one or two spectaular seasons.

just look at how broken down wade is right now. kobe unlike those dudes was smart to play the long game. he didn't damage his body by recklesly driving to the rim every play. he played the cerebral mid-range game. it extended his career but did damage his chances of having those one or two spectacular years you nikkas seem to act like he lacks.

Kobe's legacy is secure we know this team sucks. He can't go up and down from his position on the alltime list

He's between 14-20 somewhere in there

now ur just hatin. i can see dudes saying kobe ain't top 5. cause there are legit arguments to made for some dudes to be ahead of him. but there is no way you can name 13 guys with better RESUMES than Kobe. cause thats what we talkin bout when we say top 10. nobody here has seen every great to ever play in the nba. all we're going off is resumes. and there is no way you can name 13-19 better resumes than kobe. a range of 14-20 is laughable.

25/5/5 career averages (both regular season and playoffs)
4th all-time scoring (regular season)
3rd all-time scoring (playoffs)
5 NBA Championships (in 7 Finals appearances)
2 Finals MVPs (one of 9 players all-time with multiple Finals MVPs)
1 regular season MVP
16 all-star game selections (2nd most all-time)
11 time All-NBA 1st team (tied for most all-time)
9 time All-Defense 1st team (tied for most all-time)

please name me 13 better resumes than this. AT WORST Kobe is no.10 all-time. even Bill Simmons (a notorious Kobe hater) has him at #10.

guys with resumes CLEARLY better than Kobe -> Jordan, Kareem, Russell, Magic
guys with resumes ARGUABLY better than Kobe -> Wilt, Bird, Duncan, Shaq, LeBron

you can't name anyone else that comes even close to Kobe in terms of career accomplishments. The closest I can think of is Hakeem cause they have the same number of Regular Season and Finals MVPs but Kobe shyts on him in terms of all-star game, all-nba, all-defense, and career scoring records.

no one else comes close.

i'm just confused why ya'll think a 36 year old (coming off 2 season ending injuries) struggling to lead a team of nobodies in arguably the toughest conference ever is something to cheer about?

Maybe you want to argue with this guy?

if anything Kobe's season is remarkable given the lack of support, the amount of miles, and injuries he's racked up.

Points is all that matters?

Duncan has more MVPs and more FMVPs.

1 more of each. stop acting like its some huge margin. and its not like Kobe doesn't have some things on Duncan. for example he has more scoring titles, all-nba 1st team selections, all-defense 1st team selections, etc. duncan may have had a higher peak but IMO kobe sustained his peak for a longer period of time. plus I saw Kobe dominate Duncan head to head in the playoffs more times than Duncan dominated. which is the main reason i have Kobe over Duncan.

However, I got no problem with someone feeling Duncan is better than Kobe. their resumes are close enough. i simply disagree.

- snitched on shaq
04' - sabotaged the Laker hall of fame team
- sabotaged the NBA finals
05' - quit on the Lakers after Rudy T resigned
06' - Lost a 3-1 lead over the Phoenix Suns and quit on the Lakers in game 7
07'- quit on the Lakers again when facing Phoenix
- demanded a trade
- sh*tted on Bynum
08 '- got smashed by the celtics in the finals
- quit on the Lakers in game 6
10' - 6/24 in game 7 against the celtics
11 ' - steamrolled by dirk
12' - sabotaged playoff series against the thunder.
13' - sabotaged a 2nd hall of fame Lakers team
- injured his Achilles and missed playoffs
14' - injured himself again. Only played 6 games
15' - self explanatory

You might be right bout some of this but 03'-14' is bullshyt

Kobe was nortoriously a bad team mate but its only cuz he is a natural a$$hole

And Kobe LEAD the trash ass lakers to tha playoffs before he ruptured the Achilles.

He had mike dantoni as a coach.(hiring of dantoni was officially end of lakers for years to come)

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Well you probably have Duncan in yours which automatically discredits it...5 rings and 30,000 points. How many other players have that?...Def not Tim

No, Duncan isn't in my top 5 ever, unlike you dudes just cause he's my favorite player ever doesn't mean he gets an artificial ratings boost and I don't call him the Greatest player ever either :russ:

Brooklyn
Make that 36/153 with the game on the line in the regular season not to mention missing the go ahead free throw with 30 seconds left. Inbound the ball in the backcourt with 12 seconds left and go isolation with 2 timeouts left instead of running a play brehs :heh:
