most of kobe's statistical accomplishments have a big * asterisks next to them because it took him so much longer to get the same numbers. he is essentially benefiting from playing alot more seasons due to skipping college. if he had 2 or 3 in college he wouldve been drafted to a wack team like jordan was but instead of getting 5 thanks to shaq and the lakers franchise he would likely have 0 and be nowhere near any records.

i said the same thing about lebrons record when he became the youngest player to breach the 20000 point threshold. Jordan was older but he reached 20000 points in fewer seasons. So yeah big ass asterisk. By the way imma heat fan and i never liked lebron until he came to our squad. His championship pedigree is essentially equal to paul pierces at this point. but it obvious he has the potential to become the greatest or at least better than kobe in terms of success. right now he is by far the best player in the league.
