Ray Allen is a role player....and was one for the Boston Celtics the year BEFORE going to the Heat. Kobe is a superstar player.
Kobe just put up 27 ppg on 46% from the field in his 17th season as the #1 focus of the defense. Ray Allen just up 10 ppg on 44% from the field in his 17th season as a 4th option on the Heat.
And that's why Ray won a title in his 17th season and Kobe did not.
Its crazy how many players were at one time Kobe Bryant's peers....but now....aren't

Breh....he was forced to lean back. Dont forget Avery Bradley took Ray Allen's spot as starting SG on the Celtics last year and Allen has NO chance of ever starting on the Heat without injury to Wade.
He's a bench player in these days and times....Kobe's a starter on every team in the NBA.

That team wouldn't have made the playoffs wtihout Kobe that year. He was the healthiest player and he more than anybody else altered his game to make things worked.

And I love how for all the talk of Kobe bogging down the offense that everybody has seemingly forgotten how the Lakers offense became a complete and utter joke without Kobe. Without him they went from having one of the best offenses in the league to virtually not being able to score at all. The Spurs had no respect for any of the Lakers perimeter player.
