My whole thing is like why??? Why feel the need for that bar?? He really didn't have anyone in his ear say "naaa meek this ain't a good look". But importantly Kobe had a positive influence on alot of men and women, what made meek think this was ok? Like this man left behind a family in one of the most tragic scenarios we'll prolly see this generation, for a individual of that status. Yeah everyone entitled to speak freely but damn we all know unwritten rules exist. The one of them. But Meek a true clown for this but better believe he would had done this with someone like Nipsey because of the "type" of folk Nip was affiliated with and type of possible consequence. He pulled a hoe move like this to spark some controversy because the possible consequence wouldn't put him in that type of danger( i.e street shyt).

batty boy on that cocaine

even if it wasn't you need to consider your timing and what people would assume...it just shows you even more that he's an idiot.

Exactly. Let's say it's true and he wasn't being insensitive and passive-aggressive. Then he's gotta admit at this point to being completely oblivious and immature when it comes to context and he shouldn't be @ this point. Leave the Twitter alone. Make music and free prisoners. Whoever he was saying fukk ya feelings to........was it worth it? Ooh he got em. smh

This is the type of shyt you pull when you're in high school when you say some shyt under your breath and your mama hears you. Nah nah I was talking about somebody else..

He's a parent and a "leader" let him tell it. This ain't it.

this just goes to show that hip-hop is way too mainstream at this point.

and looking at the responses on this board, so-called rap fans are PC and soft as terri cloth.

i remember when we wouldnt even bat an eye over stuff like this.

I was gonna post "Meek's always been a clown to me and I'm all for shytting on him at all times but I'm glad he actually stood on his shyt for once, it's always worse when you apologize instead of doubling down on it." but I noticed he apologized. So yeah fukk him.

alot of similar lines have been uncreative.

again, nobody batted an eye.

its a combination of the PC era w/ hip-hop being too much apart of pop culture nowadays. then add the fact that the internet hates meek, and there you have it.

stop being a sheep.

all these kanye fans i see in here. why didnt yall keep the same energy for that Emmitt Till line?? his death was "more significant" than kobe's but yall aint complain about that.
eminem fans in here too. dont even get me started. theres a long list of examples there.
this board still gets wet over the thought of the styles p line, mocking aaliyah's death.
i could go on & on. THIS IS HIP-HOP. kobe tried to rap at one point. he knew what it was.

LIKE I SAID, its fake outrage. just people piling on in the midst of the PC Era.

I'm not a Wayne fan, never have been. And yes that Emmit Till line was disgusting to me and I said it at the time. Eminem is whatever...he doesn't make music for the culture, he has no real ties to anything and is a shock rapper. Meek isn't a shock rapper.

Rap is full of disrespectful lines. Last few days of this "controversy" has me thinking...what if my mom heard Biggie say "beating motherfukkers like Ike beat Tina." Tina Turner is a legend to her and countless women in that age range...I wonder how they'd take that, would it be funny or an "oooh shyt" line like we think it is to her? Getting back to Kobe, I def thought it was out of bounds and stand by it. One year anniversary. A death the had an almost universal impact on the globe. Not to mention Kobe got kids who prob listen to rap...you gonna look yourself in the mirror knowing his daughter might hear that bullshyt in the car or at a party? fukk that.

Mainstream America has always been PC when it came to Hip Hop. They tried to ban albums from stores over the use of profanity. We had congress men and women who wanted to ban Hip Hop. They had public cd smashing parties in the streets. How many times was 2Pac having to defend his content? NWA? 2LiveCrew? The list goes on. Eminem was being pocketed to the point he had to perform on stage with Elton John as an olive branch for disparaging comments he made about gays.

Dip Set got heat over the Muhammed Atta line in 2002, like 6 months after the terrorist attacks.
