there's no need to argue children. If Hakeem counts as "foreign" then Kobe's wrong. If he doesn't count as foreign, then kobe's right.

Manu is better than Pau. He's only putting Pau on cause they got rings together.

:salute: at the GOATs recognizing Dirk's greatness. First MJ coming out and saying Dirk is 1 of only 4 current players who could have balled during his time, and now Kobe recognizing game. To be honest though, is there even any discussion of who the best foreign player is? Anybody who doesn't say Dirk probably watches too much NASCAR.

when you say foreign player, it generally means the guys who came straight from overseas. Not ones who went to college here.

Everyone knew Kobe meant players born and bred overseas who played over there before being drafted. People like Dream should not count and that's why he left him out. And he was spot on with picking Dirk. Dirk is that dude and though I wanted to the Heat to win, I wasn't too mad when they beat them. Cause he deserved that ring for all the work he has put in over the years.

while its clear kobe is talking about guys who never played here before they played professionally, i would classify a foreign player as anyone who is playing here that isnt native to the country

You prepared to tell me how a guy who was 0-12 in the playoffs, getting swept 3 consecutive years before teaming up with Kobe Bryant, is better than Manu? :skip:

Pau's been pretty mediocre since the 2010-2011 season, especially in the 2011 playoffs when he was absolutely crushed by Dirk :snoop:
And his years in Memphis he was constantly getting exposed in the playoffs... So what, he's got a prime of 3 years in LA?? :heh:

Drazen > Dirk just didn't get his time to shine

I'm not gonna dap this, because i'm not 100% sold on Drazen over Dirk.

However, most Euros didn't used to come over as soon as they got drafted like Dirk did, so he benefits from having a longer career than them.

And we know what happened with Drazen.

Really doe, who knows what Kukoc would've done if he got here when he was younger and not on a loaded Bulls team (I don't mean the non-MJ years, of course)?

...or what about if America didn't have a :mjpls: policy with Russia when Sabonis was young? I mean, he was fuccin' the league up when he was Larry Holmesevic Status...

no use playing the "what if" game though. if you're gonna rank'em, you gotta go with the facts.

but yeah, i think it's pretty clear kobe was talking about guys who weren't just foreign born but came up outside the us. given that, it's hard to dispute that dirk's the best of the bunch.

I hear you...and I would let it breathe if Kobe had said Dirk had the better career. But to say "best" to me sounds like an overall assessment of who was the better player. Iono if I would take D-Nov over all the other foreign dudes hands down.

Manu Ginobili is not better than Pau Gasol.

The simple fact that you're trying to conflate team success with individual ability shows you know how full of shyt you are.
