We aren't assuming anything, we're taking two bodies of work and comparing them. He said that Jordan was still effective when he was playing at 39 and commenting on how Kobe really isn't.
You have to talk about all of his injuries and shyt, and comment on the fact that Jordan didn't have to deal with it, it's just part of the conversation.
Yeah but the implication is that if Jordan had those minutes...he would have had a major injury or wouldn't have been as effective.
And you (not you personally) can't insinuate that. You just can't.
Kobe and Jordan are separated by something like 7,000 minutes...roughly 2 seasons' worth of minutes.
It's true that Kobe has played a lot of minutes.
But we don't get to celebrate that level of durability...and then blame that durability for when injuries take foot.
Can't have it both ways. It's just a part of the game.
I mean Gary Payton and Kobe are separated by 1432 minutes (slightly more after today's game).
They're essentially even. Yet nobody talks about the effect of all those minutes on Payton's career.
