The media votes for the best story.

The coaches and players should vote for the MVP. Since they actually COACH and PLAY against the players.

Good point, I mean why not have the coaches vote for best coach (can't vote for themselves) and players vote for MVP (can't vote for themselves)?

Lol @ naming all star accolades and lebron will obliterate all that shyt kobe has accomplished in less time

Kobe 2 finals mvps Lebron 1(possibly about to be 2)

Kobe 1 league mvp ,Lebron 4

Kobe 2 rings as a leader Lebron 1(about to be 2)

Lebron will pass kobe in literally everything scoring, championships, all star mvp's,all star appearances, final's mvp's,1st teams etc

Only that is close to being certain is the scoring.

But it's cool to talk about Kobe's rings even though he entered the league on arguably the greatest franchise in history with a prime Shaq in tow? :rudy:/:comeon:

:snoop: at nikkas actually trying to flip it like Kobe was unfortunate for entering the league in such a situation. :mindblown:

no one is flipping anything.

what i'm telling you is this.

STOP comparing young kobe that was not the #1 on his team. since he didnt come in on a SORRY TEAM.

here's what happens

you are a top pick, you get put on a SORRY team, that will suck for years or forever. cause usually sorry teams stay sorry. they always get high picks. cause they never put the proper help around their stars.
this affords you the young baller a team where you are THE MAN just like you have always been in highschool and college(if you went). in additoin, you have the ultimate green light with your coach. shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. no one will call you out for shooting to much and not "getting teammates in involved." cause they know your teammates suck.

prime example. Tracy Mcgrady with Vince wasnt balling in toronto. no where near like he was when he went to SORRY orlando and he was the loan baller since Ghill was having ankle surgery after ankle surgery.

being able to be the MAN on a team for 5 or so years, give you a certain level of maturity. you know how to handle pressure, etc.

but winning rings early also grants you a certain level of maturity. you know the kind of work and sacrifice it takes to win it all.

so you can never compare a guy that starts on a stacked team, to a guy that starts on a sorry team. the sorry team guy will always put up more /better numbers then the guy on the stacked team.

so how do you compare these two type of players if their beginnings were different?

You compare their PRIMES.

and if the guy that was lucky to be on a winning team early in his career ends up on a sorry team in the middle of his career. compare those stats to the other guys stats with his sorry team. thats apples to apples. vs apples to oranges.

kobe dropped 62 in 3qtrs and 81 points if 4qtrs. when he was in his prime on a very sorry team. the man would WILL his sorry team to wins. into the playoffs. and he almost willed them to a 1st round upset.

i have NEVER seen anyone do that vs top tier competition.

you may say what about lebron when he was young and got to the finals. well that cavs team was still better then luke walton, brian cook smush parker, and kwame butterfingers brown.
in addition look at how bad the eastern conf was that year. who did bron beat?

kobe had to slug it out with a top tier western team.

Shaq and Kobe only have 1 MVP yet Steve Nash has 2 :aicmon: awards been a joke ever since :manny:

This is why the media shouldn't vote for the MVP. They put too much into team records and whatever the best narrative at the time is. That's how you end up with the Nashs and the Roses of the world winning them. Kobe was penalized because his teams didn't win 50 games, but how is that his fault? No one would have gotten those Laker squads to 50 wins. Without Kobe they are a 15 game win team at best.

Its a joke.

MVP's are irrelevant anyways. How do I know? Steve Nash left the place where he won 2 MVPS to chase rings with Kobe. Thats how I know.

If you're LeBron, which would you rather have? Four MVPs or 5 championships? :yeshrug:

:russ:

:umad:

Lebron about to pick up his 2nd ring this year too and then continue it the next 10 years til he retires :blessed:

Crazy thing is that as subjective as MVP voting has been, none of Bron's 4 MVPs are disputed.

Matter fact he might should have more than just 4.

Matter fact he might should probably have Kobe's MVP :whew:

and thats why its embarrassing he has only one title

I agree he's been the best regular season player since about 09. But he's continually choked in the playoffs/finals when he has had home-court advantage and the better team (regular season record-wise).

Pretty embarrassing. :youngsabo:

Way to totally ignore my point. :heh: Do you use rings to judge individual players yes or no? If you say yes you are a hypocrite flat out. I am all for looking at the situation and looking at context which is why I despise the ring argument. As far as stats go we have seen numerous great players (including Kobe) put up numbers on championship teams. We have NEVER seen a great player carry a sucky team to a championship.

rings > MVPs

but rings + MVPs is the best

we'll see if Bron gets more rings but it ain't lookin too good right now and the Heat aren't exactly built for long-term dominance.....their window is pretty much this year and next year before they gotta blow it up cause of the luxury tax

fukk outta here

Bron got 1 ring. He'll be lucky to win this year considering SA stole game 1. He's got a long way to go before he reaches Kobe.
