If you're LeBron, which would you rather have? Four MVPs or 5 championships? :yeshrug:

I would want both. :ld: He actually has a chance to get both or pretty close to it. I think it really comes down to a "grass is always greener" type situation. Bron won 2 MVPs before age 26 and he was like "fukk this I want some rings". Conversely Kobe had 3 rings before age 26 and he was like "fukk this I want more individual acknowledgment". :yeshrug:

if he had a young :shaq: on his team back when he was in his early 20's, he'd have at least 4 rings along with his 4 MVP's by now :manny:

Ya, no way Nash gets the MVP over Shaq if the players and coaches were voting. The league has evolved since MJ. MJ was FAR AND AWAY the best player in the L, perhaps the only close comp being Olajuwon, where as with Kobe, you had a ridiculous list of players who at any given time could be the best player in the L

A.I.
T-Mac
Kidd
Wade
Rose
Shaq
Duncan
Lebron
Nash
Rose
CP3

etc etc. I think there is more parity talent-wise in Kobe's era, thus less MVPs, but I stand with Bird, it's a travesty he only has one, a lot of it due to just plain 'ol hate.

No its not "hate." Its just how it turned out.

Kobe wasn't gonna win any MVP's with Shaq on his team
When Shaq was traded, the Lakers were wack for a few years, no MVP awards for that
By the time the Lakers revamped their roster, got Pau and started winning again, Lebron was clearly the best player

Kobe ended up getting 1 in that timespan, but even that one was more of a lifetime achievement award and probably should've gone to Chris Paul.

How many guys can you say won the MVP award without a member of their squad making the all star team :ohlawd:

good take for both sides. but if i'm that guy, at this point i would rather have Kobe's career. 5 rings, top 5 in points scored, tied for most All-Star MVPs, tied for most All Star game appearances.

in 5 years my story may be different. :gladbron:

Lol @ naming all star accolades and lebron will obliterate all that shyt kobe has accomplished in less time

Kobe 2 finals mvps Lebron 1(possibly about to be 2)

Kobe 1 league mvp ,Lebron 4

Kobe 2 rings as a leader Lebron 1(about to be 2)

Lebron will pass kobe in literally everything scoring, championships, all star mvp's,all star appearances, final's mvp's,1st teams etc

Kobe is the only reason why Kobe has 1 MVP. During the shaq years, he(kobe) wasn't clear cut #1 so he couldn't MVP.
During he Smush years, kobe maximized his talents but didn't do so for the team around him such as : take better shots, pass the ball when teammate was open. And team record wasn't good enough.
He deservedly won it in 08. Could have won it in 09 too if he play more team oriented and have a better team record. Same thing in '10.

Well of course 17 years worth of accomplishments is more appealing than 10 years worth. :heh: None of those things were true for Kobe 7 years ago. Bron has a chance to match or surpass all of those things by the time he gets to year 17 in addition to all that he has already accomplished. It's not like he has to chose one or the other.

Crazy thing is that as subjective as MVP voting has been, none of Bron's 4 MVPs are disputed.

Matter fact he might should have more than just 4.

Matter fact he might should probably have Kobe's MVP :whew:

Let this nikka Kobe disappear until he retires. Im tired of reading about his irrelevant ass.

and thats the statement i've been waiting to here. haters gone hate music.

thats all the nonsense you hear about kobe is all about. yall wish he would just go away. but that old man keeps killing the game. yall better HOPE he doesnt come back right after this achilles thing.

the funny thing is, yall so quick to move on, not realizing there is no one to replace him in the nba. and please dont say LBJ. different type of players. LBJ has more tools then kobe or mjay oor anyone has ever had. those are God given. yet he had to be pushed and prodded to show up in big situations. not kobe.

lbj has made like 2 huge last second shots in his entire career. but the greats magic, mike, kb have made many.

when LBJ's athleticism goes(i hope he retires before it does. cause that wont be a pretty sight). especially if there are other top tier young boys coming in the league throwing rocks at the throne.

The footwork of a kobe bryant, the skill, the determination, the WILL(that fool would play with 2 broken legs if he could move them). basketball fans.. YOu will not have anything like that anytime soon most likely. and as good as LBJ is, he will never have that no fear, will and determination of a kobe. and we all know this.

you better enjoy the last bit of bean bryant. imagine if i was hating on mike in his last few years as a bulls player just cause kobe, tmac, vince were on deck. :comeon:

lebron inherited a sorry team in the cavs. all superstars that come in to a sorry team get to put THE NUMBERS. its an apples to oranges debate. stop using this debate.

and lets be honest. is lebron's current competition on par with the guys kobe had to go up against? HELLLLZ NO.

dont let me name names.

LBJ has to go at Durant. and thats it. there is no other player of this era on their level.

B.roy would be killing it right now if he never had the bad knees.

but even then, it would only be 3 guys at the top.

Tmac
Vince
AI
Ray allen
P.Pierce

LBJ doesnt have that type of comp right now. not his fault. but lets be real. the NBA is watered down at the moment. it was like that after jordan called it post his 6th ring. it was some young guys bubbling but nothing really to talk about until years later. when kobe woke up, tmac woke up, VC, AI, etc.

i mean dont get me wrong penny was very good. but that didnt even last that long.

But it's cool to talk about Kobe's rings even though he entered the league on arguably the greatest franchise in history with a prime Shaq in tow? :rudy:/:comeon:

:snoop: at nikkas actually trying to flip it like Kobe was unfortunate for entering the league in such a situation. :mindblown:

The media votes for the best story.

The coaches and players should vote for the MVP. Since they actually COACH and PLAY against the players.

Other coaches and players couldn't care less what you're doing if you're not playing them that night. Besides, their opinion would be weighed more towards the game they played against you in particular.
