What we don't see is, now that he's older, is the amount of post-game or post-practice rituals he has to go through. Stretching, massage, pain killers, ice bath, etc. He's old.
And since he's been going 100% all these years, his chances of injury are higher.He may have been able to handle getting bumped while under the basket. Now, that minor bump could cause a sprain or ligament tear.
