I've said it before and I'll say it again, there NEEDS to be more than just Melo, Kobe, and Gasol on the that team to compete for a championship. This isn't an indictment on any of the three of them it's just the truth, the West is fukking STACKED and even IF the Lakers as currently constructed plus Melo are a playoff lock (which is FAR from a given) they need more. Kobe and Melo gonna have to learn to work together like Wade and Lebron did and it would surprise the HELL out of the entire league if Kobe defers to Carmelo over the course of a season. I just can't see Carmelo turning down that 129 Millie to go out west and defer to Kobe for the next two years and not even sniff the finals....

this cannot be understated. nikkas can't go on and on about the lakers being such an undesirable spot right now because of the roster and then turn around and act like kobe's lure didn't bring melo here. you can't have it both ways. kobe can't be a cancer and the lakers situation be terrible from a winning standpoint.
