when has kobe dragged a bum ass team to glory? I don't get this narrative..a lot of nba legends played majority of their careers with great players, like for example magic and bird always having stacked teams. Kobe had a bum ass team for 3 seasons from 2005 to 2007 and 1st round was the maximum they could get. So how is that dragging bums to glory exactly?

now i get it kobe is good for any era

but this narrative of dragging bum ass team to glory is overused, there has been only couple of examples where a one superstar had a really successful year with a bum ass team
going back2back 09/10 was overachieving yes¿

what do you think that team would do without kobe¿

back2back rings with pau as the #1 option¿

He may not have dragged Them to glory, but the fact they even got to the playoffs out west with that team says something

Kobe had to score 81 points just for them to beat the raptors and go on 40 point months just to be a 8th seed.

The grizzlies hired the god father of PER. John Cacollinger. They havent done shyt . They’re literally the same franchise before they hired him.

PER and all that cac shyt is overrated. It’s really telling that y’all kobe haters are willing to side with cac stat nerds over hall of fame players.
Stop embarrassing yourself with this stupidity .... PER is one stat he is not the “godfather” of analytics.. when the Warriors changed ownership they brought in a supreme analytics team since that is Lacobs background in Silicon Valley ...he is a literal bio statistician and since then they have been to 3 straight championships winning two ...their analytics team actually won some awards from MIT ...

This is a quote out of their owners own mouth

“Humans can only comprehend so much data,” Lacob said. “Analytics help us weed out our own biases and understand what’s really going on. So they don’t give us all of the answers. But they do help point us in the right direction.

Kobe stans are cavemen and proud of it :dead:

It’s really telling that they would rather side with DIKKRIDING another man over logic and empirical data

that is not a bum ass team what the hell are you talking about? Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Bynum (when healthy), Ariza or Artest depending on which year we talking about, was a great supporting cast compared to what other superstars had on their squads back in those years. They had the best front court in the league.

You are acting like in 2009 we had bunch miami big 3s warriors and bron cavs out there

The only more stacked team in those years was celtics and they lost KG for 2009 playoffs

I don't think it exactly works that way. You're saying Curry can still maintain his level of efficiency with Ass players? Really?
For great players yes this can be the case ....for example Lebrons last season in Cleveland he posted a 60%TS with less talent than any of those championship rosters Kobe played on ...he’ll even Kobe posted a 58% TS one year with Smush Parker and them so it’s definately plausible for a shooter as good as Curry to consistently be efficient no matter the surrounding parts

It'd be really helpful if the span the guy stated as Kobe's peak was actually mentioned (i.e. '06-'10 or whatever). I finally found the years he's referring to (2003-2007 for those interested) but damn if that wasn't confusing. And also a weird span to pick, both in length and in the years he actually picked. Always thought of peak as a single season and Kobe's peak as somewhere around '08-'10. To each their own :yeshrug:

Anyways, turns out Curry created a higher percentage of his shots off the dribble than Kobe did... the stat that covers this if you're looking at BKref is "Ast%" which is the percentage of shots they were assisted on.

(Career)

Curry: Ast% = 31.0%
Kobe: Ast% = 34.7%

(Five-year peak)

Curry ('14-'18): Ast% = 33.3%
Kobe ('03-'07): Ast% = 35.6%
Bu-bu-bu :mjpls:

Awwwwwlll this would be some prime ether to the “buhhh buhhh buhhh he doesn’t create his own shots” crowd

Unfortunately the morons wouldn’t even know what asst% means

I dont understand your logic at all, how are they supposed to win back 2 back without their best player? There is probably one team in the history of nba that could win a title without their best player and thats this years warriors I mean if you take KD out and if the rest of these dudes have a great shooting series they may have a chance agianst the cavs.

that supporting cast was far from the bums, if you take out the best player from each team in like 2009 the lakers would be at worst top 5 team
