I need to know where this narrative of Kobe stans only wanting Kobe on the team came from. Or that no Kobe stan ever criticized Kobe, I've seen Kobe get criticized in game threads before by Kobe stans for taking an ignorant shot or two. I wouldn't expect OP to know that, he's a pistons stan stickin his nose in GOAT franchise affairs. But by all means, enjoy your laughs, chuckle it up.

GOAT franchise been in the light several season you fukk nikka where you been at? Just cuz we're under horrendous management it doesn't take away from what's been done. It is what it is. But any real fan of basketball would rather not see the Lakers in this condition, Kobe still got what it takes but Dr. Buss passed on and rich bratty cokeheads that hire bartenders for scouts don't make the best basketball decision makers.
In fact, @houston911's recent thread regarding Kobe's contract brings up a deeper question. Why exactly should Kobe have to sacrifice his worth in order to compete? Why should any player sacrifice their worth? It shouldn't be one or the other given how the owners are caking the fukk off on the labor of the players. Yall hatred makes yall vision shallow, Kobe's supposedly albatross contract will be exhibit A in the players case for more dollars. Future generations of young black men gon eat even better in this league thanks to Kobe's "selfishness".

Because there's a salary cap sorta. Once you cross a certain payroll, you can only offer the minimum. This ain't baseball where the Yankees had Derek Jeter signed to a 10 year $189 million deal, CC Sabathia signed to his huge deal, Hideki Matsui signed, and Alex Rodriguez signed to a 10 year $275 million deal. Only so many good players willing to play for the minimum. Find me the last all star who played for the taxpayer mid level exception or less
A lot of this Kobe criticism for what's happened the last couple of years I feel is straight propaganda. Things like blaming Kobe for Dwight leaving when it was pretty obvious that Dwight wasn't BUILT to mentally carry that franchise (and be in Shaq's shadow) is bullshyt. Also blaming Kobe for the contract is stupid as well. Kobe EARNED that contract and how would it have looked to potential free agents of they would have amnestied or underpaid KOBE BRYANT?!?! Nobody would have even CONSIDERED signing their. They had a good shot at Carmelo but the money called him back home.
