I think the whole thing isn't about whether or not Jordan was actually guarding him. He was refrencing the team of the raptors as a whole. He basically saying he couldn't be on that team letting one man drop 81 on them without(himself at least) fouling out.

Its not about how old he was or who was guarding Kobe. Its more of a competitive thing like Jordan not going to let that happen without at least fouling out and doing everything possible to stop it, no matter the age.

With that said I thought what Kobe said was a slick shot and funny especially since no one really goes at MJ directly.
