:dahell: kinda comparison is this?

:dahell: sums up the premise of the thread but anyway, the point I'm making is that in theory, an elite women's player could contribute in today's version of the NBA because we just saw a middle school defense help a team win a title.

Basketball is a sport where one player is the difference between lottery and playoffs ... but with the right coach, gameplan, scheme, etc ... yeah, what Kobe said is POSSIBLE.

There is no woman from WNBA that could handle a high endurance 82 game season against athletic men and have on top of that a positive performance on the court. There are two types of bench warmers in NBA: 1) veteran guys for locker room presence and 2) Young players who are here for potential that scouts seen, but they still can't figure it out. In both cases these are men that proved their worth against other male competition before signing with NBA. WIth women, they played professional basketball all their life against other women.

There are thousands and thousands of male basketball players all over the world who would destroy the very elite female competition if it came to a serious basketball and not some "having fun" pickup game.

Once again you are adding to it. Who said anyting about postiive impact or playing 82 games? You realize there are plenty of players in the league that don't do either of those things right? In today's NBA, if you can knock down an open 3 you can find a spot on the roster.

You're really underselling how difficult it is to make it in the NBA. A guy like Lance Stephenson is playing in China right now before the age of 30, he's just one of hundreds/thousands of professional players across the world that are more talented, athletic and physically imposing than those women.

This isn't a knock on them but I don't think you really understand or appreciate how physically over-matched these women would be. Della Done is 6'5 and she's a big in the WNBA.. that's smaller than your average shooting guard. Diana Taurasi and Maya Moore are 6'0 but don't have the requisite athleticism to make it in the NBA.. Shane Larkin, for example, is the same height as them with way more athleticism and he's playing in the Euroleague.

Lance is actually a good example. There are players in the league right now that he is better than, more physically imposing than. Yet they are in the league and he is not. Obviously they aren't gonna come in and do anything close to what they do with women, but I don't think it is outrageous to suggest that the absolute best women can be a 12-15 man on squad.

Breh, either neg me and/or discuss the opinion set forth so I can gain better perspective and keep it moving.

Even Serena the goat female athlete would get washed by a middle of the pack tennis male star

Well yeah, obviously. But I wouldn't put it past her to get a couple points/games out of the deal.

I'm not going to pretend that Maya Moore would wash any NBA player, but if you're asking me if a player of her caliber could get a bucket or two in a game setting ... then yeah, maybe. :yeshrug:

That's not even remotely true.

For instance, I just looked up the top 3pt-shooters in the NCAA in 2015. The top-10 were shooting between 48% and 53% from three-point range. You know how many of them are in the NBA right now? NONE. There's like one guy in G-league and a couple others who played in small teams in Europe and that's it.

There were around 50 different NCAA D-1 players who shot at least 45% from three-point range that year. FIFTY. And almost none of them are in the NBA. That's how difficult it is to make the NBA.

Corey Hawkins was out there shooting 6 threes a game hitting 48% and averaging 21-5-4. He went undrafted, was waived by the Heat before the season started, averaged 11-3-2 shooting 39% from three in G-league for a couple teams that season but that isn't good enough. Never saw NBA interest again, played a year in Europe where he didn't do very well and then called it quits.

And those are man-sized athletes doing that shyt against elite men defenders with an NBA ball. You think a woman who has played her entire life with a women's ball against female defenders has the slightest chance of matching them?

People who can score against nba players are basketball gods. Why has maya moore or the others never tried out for an nba team? They like making less money? No they actually want more money, which we've all seen in the news. The reason women are not in the nba is bc they cant do anything against nba players. It doesn't matter if they're alltime greats in the wnba. The women's game is slower, and inferior to the men's. this is why there are women's sports leagues to begin with. If women could actually beat out even the worst nba player, they wouldnt be in the wnba playing for peanuts. Yall don't understand just how incredible you have to be to get on an nba team. It doesn't matter what defense the raptors or who ever used. some dude name dropped quin cook. Mufukka, if you put him in the wnba, hed average 50 points a game and a triple double, yet hes only a scrub in the mens league and can barely even get a shot off. That tells you how good these guys are, but slow ass maya moore, who cant even get 25 a night against other women, is gonna take somebody's spot who deserves to be there. Yall got to be trolling.

she'd be averaging 50 ppg if she could play in the nba, and even then she'd be the 15th man on the bench.

It is outrageous

Division 1 starters from elite programs wash out of the NBA. What WNBA player in her prime could start for a major conference D1 men's team? The answer is NONE.
