He jacked it from RedditGood thread @Reality![]()
Footwork is key, but if you watch Kobe even when he can create some space his legs are so dead that the trajectory of his shot is f*cked as soon as he let's it go because he can't elevate. To echo what others have said, trying to mimic Steph's shot is actually a smart move. Steph is all about release, not lift...same as his old man, which is why Del was knocking 3's down at an advanced age in the league. The problem is going from a rise-and-shoot jumpshot to a one motion shot after 20+ years ain't easy. If Kobe never tore is achilles I think his game would look similar to what it was a few years ago...not as efficient due to a decline in athleticism but still able to get buckets and have enough lift to be comfortable shooting the pill. Right now he has no legs, so his J is cooked. The crazy thing about Kobe is that all the experts and analyst swore up and down he would always be able to score because he had such great footwork and balance and whatever other adjective you want to attach to shooting a basketball...
Now one in ever 5 shots doesn't even hit the rim
How is that possible? How do you go from one of the greatest ever to not being able to consistently hit the rim on an 18 foot jumpshot...
I don't think it's possible to fall off that bad![]()
