A lot of you internet nerds will never be able to understand the decisions that athletes make, because the biggest competition you ever faced was racing downstairs to get the last piece of cake before your little brother.
Kobe was killing in the first half and they were still getting spanked. He figured "keep going hard and leave with a more victory, or protest and apply pressure and make the front office step up"
They got 2 more rings, so it looks like he played it right.

I remember this game, it is not what you guys think. He played that game with a broken hand.
if i remember correctly, ppl were shytting on him cuz he was shooting too much in the series or some shyt, so he was like aight lets see what happens when i dont shoot

That series exposed several narratives about Kobe.
Despite the opinion that Kobe singlehandedly won tons of games with his scoring, they built that 3-1 lead with very pedestrian scoring output from him.
We also saw that those huge scoring outbursts that we saw in about 0.1% of his games could not be delivered on demand.
I think he wanted to go psycho bean to win that game, Phil told him he needed to stick to what had been successful, so he unwillingly went through the motions with no attempt to make it work.

This is a deflection. What does any of this have to do with kobe pouting while refusing to shoot in the 2nd half of that game 7 to prove a point? There’s no defense for what he did in that game.
I suspect that Phil went to him and told him that he needed to share the ball more and he got mad and said “fukk it”. Remember, that previous he went for 50 in a loss while his other teammates had it going. Kobe also had a lot of turnovers in that’s game. So he was gunning and turning the ball over despite having 50 and that’s where the criticism came from.
