The money is different. Koch brothers are worth 40 billion USD a piece. Oprah is worth 3 billion USD.

In fact, Oprah is the only black billionaire in America. Barrack and Romney each raised a billion for their 2012 election campaigns. Just put that into perspective for a second.

They are cutting checks equivalent to some of the richest people net worth. In addition to Adelson these guys and their organization can only be matched by other billionaires like Soros.

Breh, are you really trying to compare people like David Koch to Oprah? :mindblown: David Koch has been involved in politics for many years now, not to mention his spending power; Oprah is not seen in the same light as him. Why are you hoping that entertainers of all people would look to get involved in politics? And lets not forget the role that race plays in all of this.

Who said to do that? :what:

I'm saying that if the Koch's can sit here and interview the next president on their own dime, then why can't black political interests do the same?

All this money and no one is stepping up?

My question is why are we sitting back and letting this happen? Is no one going to intervene? How is this OK???

These are excuses.

There are tons of agendas being proposed.

So why aren't all these millionaires stepping up? :sas1:

Examples of these agendas?

Protip: Don't make general statements like that, you're just asking for trouble

So the response is...nothing?

Because mind you, there isn't ONE black PAC Ive ever seen.

Especially not one with a progressive agenda
It depends on what we are voting on. Are we voting on policies that directly affect black Americans? Are we raising the money to support a black candidate?

9/10, voting for a black candidate in America would be a losing bet. Furthermore, policies that affect black Americans and minorities in general the most do not usually take precedence when it comes to America's agendas. The fact of the matter is that black Americans, individually at least, do not have the economic power to affect public policies on a national stage.
