The funny thing here, is that we talk about model franchises like the Spurs, Lakers, etc. Organizations that have a culture in place, and are known as 1st class.

You have to put the Miami Heat in that conversation. Keep in mind Pat Riley has run the team for almost 20 years. Prior to that they were a laughing stock, but he gave them credibility. First thing he did was getting Mourning, then Hardaway and Mashburn, etc. Even now as they celebrate title #2 , Pat Riley is already planning for every possible scenario after 2K14.

The reason the Knicks will not win anything is because they have a fukkin idiot named James Dolan running the show....and hes show he has no business running a sports franchise. The Knicks for the most part have been an embarrassment to the NBA, non-competitive because of terrible decision making, etc.

3 get that straight muthafukka

:what: oh word? U heard any of us Knicks fans on here talkin championship ? We just wanted A great season but u guys like to blow everything we say outta proportion .

If anything we r underrated. Espn Talm bout we was 5-6 seed and had celtics winning the division ... What happens we get seed #2 win the division and beat the celtics. What does everyone do -discredit what we do by saying y'all barely beat a flabby and sick celtics team 4-2. Smdh we playing with one star with a torn labrum a known chucker a swine flu havin ass center a geriatric knee always breaking down by playoff time power forward and exceed expectations and still get shytted on in this sorry bytch.
Y'all got to the 2nd round that's not really exceeding exceptions I'd say that's exactly where most thought they get too

But your lying to yourself if you and the rest of Knick nation weren't convinced they make the eastern finals

If they weren't getting to the ECFs, when exactly were they supposed to give us that work?

ok, Riley's resume is out of space.

But ... Kareem and Magic landed in his lap, as did Shaq, LeBron and Bosh, while drafting Wade at 5 was a no-brainer..... hey, drawing people to Miami and LA isn't as easy as drawing them to NY (where Riles went ringless - don't blame MJ and Hakeem) .....

What did Zeke do that was so wrong? Marbury was a NY icon for years before the signing. ....

:dead:

Really bro?

Riley came to Miami and been making moves all over to build the team. NOTHING landed in his lap.

Riley came and
  • Traded Steve Smith for Kevin Willis
  • Then Traded Willis and Bimbo Coles for Billy owens
  • Traded Glen Rice for Alonzo Mourning
  • Traded for Tim Hardaway
  • Signed Juwan Howard in his prime (NBA voided the contract)
  • Signed PJ Brown
  • Traded for Jamal Mashburn
  • Signed Dan Majerle
  • Signed Brian Grant
  • Traded for Eddie Jones
  • Signed Rod Stricland
  • Drafted Caron Butler
  • Signed Odom
  • Drafted Wade
  • Drafted Haslem
  • Traded for Shaq
  • Traded for Walker
  • Traded for Jason Williams
  • Traded for Marc Blount <-- this is where the plotting begins.
  • Drafted Beasley
  • Traded for Jermaine O'Neal <--Plot thickens. Very significant move if you understand the cap. This made signing Lebron and Bosh possible
  • Signed Lebron
  • Signed Bosh
  • Signed Miller

Riley hasnt stopped making moves since he got to Miami. What did Isiah do for you? Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry?

Oh and BTW i thought NY was supposed to be the GOAT city where people would give their first born to play?

:smugbiden:The Heat's 3 championships come down to *1* move, and one move alone - and that's drafting Wade at 5. And I could've done that, easy.

Shaq dictated to LA where he wanted to play. And the Jermaine O'Neal trade was one of a series of moves that added a couple years of wear-and-tear to Wade's knees as Wade did everything humanly possible to keep the squad as close to .500 as he could for two years while waiting for the Voltron Form.

I didn't say Riley spent his time in the Miami front office getting BJ's from club promotion girls under his desk. He's been doing a job, and moves got made. I'm just saying he's been blessed, and that he hasn't been above and beyond everybody else as a technical front-office chess player.
