Kool G Rap - Return of the Don (Discussion Thread)

Still need to listen, but I wouldn't be too surprised if I agree on production. These vets never seem to get the best beats on these modern albums. G Rap should have beats from Premo, Pete Rock, Necro, 9th Wonder and a few other of the still dope boom bap cats just off the strength of his name. Who wouldn't want to lace Kool G Rap? Hell, holler at Marley Marl, he still has something left.

track with Nore cool, i cant really get into these beats. no idea what made him think of Moss for a whole album, but it wasnt a good move

Yea same, g rap hasn't lost a step lyrically and the features delivered, I know some didn't like the production, but for the most part I have no issue with it

Of course, I have no way of knowing whether the drums sound nice until I take the album out to the car

Day 3 or 4 maybe and my first listen hype was not a lie, I love this project and I hope he keeps putting out more music

Also knowing that was probably Sean Price's last verse put my chest in a knot

Just listened to the single with Fame and Freeway and that was dope, didn't know this album was coming out. Hopefully the production isn't as bad as everyone is saying.
