There's definitely an emphasis on co-op GaaS type games, but that headline isn't exactly fair.
We know that risk-taking is hard with AAA games, so we get games with a focus on multiplayer and monetization. Shareholders want that next Fortnite/Overwatch phenomenon, so the games have that samey cartoony artstytle and use zombies/undead/vampires to avoid that M rating and appeal to the kiddies
