The PS4 looks like the better system tech wise all around, it just doesnt have the games i want to play and thats the only thing im basing my purchase on.

doesnt seem wise to base your console purchase on launch titles. when people reflect on games they've enjoyed most on a console, it's often NEVER a launch title. :heh:

I think it's because PS4 requires less of the download to be completely done. I believe they've made it part of the certification process that your game be able to start playing even before it's completely installed. So in a game like NBA, you pick the team you want to play as and it starts installing those assets FIRST. That way, you can keep playing while it installs other assets.

So in comparisson the XBONE loads all the teams players etc. As opposed to PS4 i have to pick a team. So when i launch the game in the PS4 i have to wait for it to load the team i want to play? did they count that time?

I honestly have no clue. I thought I remembered hearing stuff about PS4 having those features. Someone with both might be able to confirm.

It's because the install times include the time it takes to download and install the updates as well.
These launch games have updates of 500mb+

If you install the games without being connected to the web, they install a lot quicker.

Xbox has the same feature. I was able to start BF4 with only 8% installed. Ryse was about 18%

I didn't really pay attention to the others

Since all of the games we were testing required an update, we factored this into our times. On the PS4, they happened in the background and didn't affect our ability to install or begin the game, while on Xbox One, the installation from disc wouldn't begin until after the update finished.

This is the difference right? That you have to wait for the complete update to finish until starting too install? (on the Xbone)

Yes that's the difference, to circumvent that you can just disconect from the Internet and install the game, then reconnect and the update will download/install in the backround.

This is probably something that will change in the future, they did it for convenience, but I think people value time over convenience.
