The battle was kinda weak, but Ice did win.
Wonder where Rone goes from here.... he says something incredible, then says something really corny, rinse and repeat. He might need to go over his material with some new folks. Not sure if staying over at KOTD benefits him at this point. I like him switching up his flows, he's more engaging when he does that.
I respect Ice for not switching up his style for the title match. Rone took a shytty angle in the 3rd and it cost him the battle, but otherwise it would have been tough for the judges. Ice still uses a lot of old references, some of these punchlines predate some of the audience members.
But mann.... I hate that angle that Rone took in the 3rd. That BS "bootstraps" argument, totally discounting the fact that he's afforded opportunities that Ice isn't simply because of his upbringing & appearance. And Rone knows better too, did he really want to win this battle with that angle? Strange...
Good battle, but could have been great if it wasn't judged.

Both Rone and Head I.C.E. are tough opponents. Rone is fukking analytical and has that flow. Head I.C.E. does that Kool Keith shyt; he'll say some ill shyt then some ridiculous shyt and makes it work no matter what. If anything they both have a different set of skills that work for them. However, I'm edging it to I.C.E., 2-1, but its a debatable win because that 3rd was close. I.C.E. got the crowd involved in that 3rd and flipped Rone's own bars on him which was the hardest haymaker of the whole battle. Rone just took too long to cook in the 3rd. I have Rone taking the 1st and Head I.C.E. taking rounds 2 and 3. Enjoyable battle and an odd match up.

You know that.....that hurt his third. The whole thing about making it in the music game was aight mentioning folks in NY I.C.E. might down with but that shyt....especially how Rone comes across, made it look like he was extra proud to be privileged. After I.C.E. hit him with that 3 K's line, too. he had son looking crazy after that round when he spit that round. The lesson is: sometimes your material may not reflect you as a competitor well if you take the wrong angles to use.
Rone shoulda smoked Ice but dude was extra wack. Might be his worst performance I've seen.

I don't think Rone or ICE could've beat each other with just the same old angles completely tho. I think that's where this battle felt a little short at because they both did that to each other. ICE playing up to the crowd helped him get that win in the 3rd tho.

I remember being on the white dominated battle rap boards, this was the token response when the Black rapper won.
Obviously you just don't like Ice, and that's fine. But lol at Rone smoking him. Rone has a video on Youtube where he's pretending to suck Pat Stay's d!ck.
This wasn't anything close to Rone's worst performance, he just lost. His lost even worse vs Goodz & Fresco.

True. I mean, if you do it right. It works.Think about it, if Rone got the chain afterwards.....KOTD would have been looking crazy for that. Good timing and prep on ICE's part.
Roc and Brizz try to slip that in in URL battles too. Surf occasionally as well but never really to defend Smack lol. I hate that angle, for any league, at any time.

Rone's 3rd was cringeworthy man, why do battle rappers write that kinda stuff and think its gonna hit hard? Terrible angle..if he had 3 rounds like his first it might have been close but Ice got 2 and 3 easy
