Probably Eazys idea to run with it to market them but that doesn't mean they weren't already indulging. They had faces of death before ever meeting Eazy and that had some demonic shyt on some of the songs and the grim reaper on the cover
I believe they were experimenting with the Black magic shyt and probably had a scary experience which is why they started doing more melodic type of vibe and more recordings about being righteous. Probably why all 5 are still here.
Interesting enough. Three 6 Mafia came out around the same time as them. REALLY pushing that line and the results were Koop dead, Lord dead, Boo dead, Crunchy getting shot in the face and losing his daughter and his son getting shot.
