Music labels are lazier than ever.... before in 2005-07, it was getting signed off the amount of Myspace plays and friends you had... then in '08-'10, it was how many Facebook fans and Youtube views you had... now in 2011 and '12, it's all about how many Twitter followers, blog hits and Datpiff/Livemixtapes downloads you get now...

Labels don't realize that only about 1 out of every 1000 rappers will have ANY real success based on that. And ALL of that just gets you a few one hit wonders and some internet sensations that the majority won't care about in the long run.

But that's the music industry for ya now.

I know it's as if the A & R's are doing the most ignorant and basic math ever .

"well if they had 2 million YouTube views , each one of those people that clicked play will certainly buy the album. So let's set them up with a 2 million dollar deal'
