You can appreciate a man's contribution to the artform and still rebuke him for his actions. Afrika Bamaataa's music was instrumental to my formative years but on the same token his actions were reprehensible. You can't let pedophiles slide.

On that note, I understand what KRS is trying to do, he is to some extent sacrificing his own legacy for the sake of protecting the father of hip-hop. KRS has been saying for years that hip-hop is in shambles because there is no real respect for the forefathers who contributed to the artform beyond a certain point. I get the WHY of it all but this is an issue where he should just take the L and remain silent.

This how it always is. Jokers will protect those they have invested years in and believe in. We see it with preachers and politicians. Hip hoppers are no different.

Hell bill Clinton administration did black folks dirty in the 90s then when Obama ran him and Hillary talked some dirty shyt about him. shyt was so dirty black folks should have absolutely been done with the Clintons.

Yet some black folks will still to this day defend bill and Hillary.

It is what it is.

I hope Afrika Bambaataa dies slowly in prison.
Cool that he helped pioneer a new sound in hip-hop.
Doesn't absolve him of being a child rapist.
KRS-One needs to go drink some coffee at home and read a book.
