Man you guys have to stop taking these statements out of context. He was asked to give a statement on behalf of hip-hop. He basically said it's not a "hip-hop" issue, and regardless of what happened it doesn't take away Bam's accomplishments within hip-hop.
He has no interest in throwing his friend who has NOT been convicted of any crime, under the bus. That's how most normal people would treat a situation like this, it's still just an accusation. If my friends or family were accused of ANYTHING, I wouldn't be rushing to condemn them.
At the worst he was a bit insensitive in how he addressed the issue. But if you were looking for him to condemn his friend who has yet to be PROVEN guilty of anything, you might not be too bright.

But remember, it's fine to separate his personal life and contributions to hip hop. A wise man once said the words are more important than the man, this is very true.
Though I do think he should be taking a stronger stance against it, just keep in mind doing so would merely be more symbolic than morally right.
There's been so many stories around hi floating around hip-hop forums around here about his debauchery going back to the 90s. The allegations themselves have been floating around since the 70s.is there any evidence that Bambataa actually did what they say he did?
So KRS was basically saying "leave Hip-Hop out of this, it ain't got nothing to do with these allegations", you already know cacs love to blame degenerate behavior on Hip-Hop (while they milk it for whatever it's worth, mind you). He's trying to defend the culture, I guess.

If the hip hop hall of fame (there isn't one but just humor me) wanted to mount a statue of Bambaataa in front of it for his hip hop contributions, after we have confirmation that he's molested various minors, are we okay with the statue being erected (pause)?
