KRS has been sorta hit or miss sound wise on some of his recent albums, the low point being Hip Hop Lives.

This sounds way more fresh... and its one of his first albums in a long time that flows well start-finish.

and actually even his lyricism/rapping is improved... and I consider him the best lyricist ever. that acronym song is so dope... no one has ever combined as much meaning and wordplay as that song imo

What? Hiphop Lives was his best album since I Got Next, breh... Loved that album, Marley Marl killed it.

The Meta-Physical album with True Master was great too...

His lyricism has improved greatly for sure but he's dropped at least three good albums since Hip Hop Lives and that one actually was pretty nice too. But if you like this one you should definitely like the previous one? The BDP Album was lyrically even better than this one plus it just had that classic KRS vibe all the way through. That was one of the best albums of that year for real but everyone slept on it as always with his later albums.

My last comment sounded way too negative, I wasn't trying to say my opinion, I was saying 'more people will like the sound of this album I think'. KRS is my favorite artist of all time. I've never disliked any of his albums, but Hip Hop Lives is my least favorite of his...still its one of my top albums for 2007 (and I love that track you posted, but besides that I only replay The Victory, Musika and Rising to the Top off that album).

I love all KRS' shyt, but what I was trying to say was: I also realize a lot of people wont be able to enjoy the sound on most of his albums, cuz its so raw. This album is raw, but its more like his tracks with DJ Premier, that appeals to more people with catchier sampling.

Adventures in Emceein, Meta-Historical, Survival Skills (with buckshot), The BDP album, Godsville with Showbiz...these are all borderline classics to me honestly. I just think these albums are better than Hip Hop Lives, but Hip Hop Lives is still dope. KRS has the best discography of all time imo.

Edit: I take it back, the album he did with Bumpy Knuckles is his worst

the only thing more retarded than people calling this dude a prophet is the fact he actually sees himself as one too

i mean look at the generic struggle font used for the title
