good post art.. perhaps i'll revisit his material
I would have to relook at the actual store bought playlist and re-listen, but there is a string of I wanna say two to three records in the early mid-part of the master.
Ra, does some shyt consistently in the four syllable pattern work.
that given the bpm's and his perfectly flawless vocal tonality and ability to perfectly pocket flows on every record.
We not never gon hear that no more but from him at this point.
Past that, if you leave off the first two record of seventh seal. That is a near perfect rakim album. Which also illustrates and even more in depth and modernized to and does dominate and and every current sonic landscape from any new pop meets rap based era.
If you include the aforementioned lead two records. It is still two worthy tries at modern hook and prospective commercial artist features and should get low marks.
Yet given the actual grading curve of the marketplace. Those two records still are of quality if judged to that standard.
Outside of that Ra sets the rap metric standard for modern rap as a skill commercially on that album too.
So the last two rakim album feature two modernized tries where one may not have fit in the marketplace and judged against rakim being rakim.
Yet the next rakim product seventh seal is on of the best modern rap commercial contemporary experiences.
That if judged against rakim and outside of rakim in that actual marketplace. It still is of the highest actual quality as far as a rap record is concerned being a commercial actual purchase. Seventh seal is as excellent a modern album outside of two rap songs as you are going to get as far as actual cultural based high quality rap commercially.
