It's called globalization and hyper capitalism, read up on it. Nas was born in the wrong era, you can't penalize him for that.

Nas keeping the essence of Hip Hop ongiong to me on that level, Where Are They Now and the remixes, his references, Sly Fox, Project Roaches, Daughters, Can't Forget About You, even doing some innovative things with the Distant Relatives album. What other mainstream artist has done things like that within the time period?

Krs was 26 years old by sex & violence. That's the entire BDP recording run.

When Nas was 26 he recorded Nastradamus.

Feel free to draw parallels between the 2 artists using those specific albums.

Krs also makes beats & does graffiti.

You don't get the world's economy was different. The music industry was much more structured and less flexible then when KRS 1 came up. Globalization and hyper capitalism made Rap accessible to the mainstream, not Nas.

Your talking nonsense, mainstream doesn't equal Hip Hop but that doesn't mean Hip Hop can't be found in the mainstream. You can have your personal view, but it's not a view most certified Hip Hoppas endorse.

KRS is in my top ten pretty much always and my top five depending on the day, but to be honest with you Nas is on a completely different level. And that's not a diss at the Blastmaster AT ALL, it just shows you that Nas really rhymes on a whole nother level than anyone else.

What's wrong with that? I don't see yall purist getting mad at anyone else nearly as much for making money. Why does Nas get that criticisms levied against but everyone else selling clothes, flossin, bling bling, liquor, world tours, ghostwriting for clowns, get a pass? Just the fact that all you older purist seem to direct all of your hate for what happened to rap towards Nas tells me how great he is... He was Anakin and turned into Vader right before your eyes and you hated that.

Outkast did MUCH more to make Rap safe for Caucasians than Nas ever could but no one wants to go there. Ain't no one playing Nas at their Suburban All-White middleschool proms.
