I've been saying it for years.....The fact that KRS One didnt win any type of award at the 1991 grammys for the praise worthy album called Edutainment is proof that the Grammys and Hip Hop are not on equal playing fields.

So true and so sad. Back in the day we as a culture fought for mainstream society to recognize hip hop as a legitimate artform. We sold out our souls and this is the end result of what we are witnessing today.


I remember when Will Smith got snuffed because the hip hop Grammys were not televised or some shyt like that back in the day. We should have learned from that experience. We don't need Grammys to recognize our very best MCs. I'm sure winning a Grammy has its benefits otherwise why are people so hell bent when their fav artist doesn't win?
