Since theres no thread on this album here I figured I'd make one. Been listening to the album more often recently so I wanted to get a lil discussion going. So what y'all think of this album ?
Personally I'm torn back & forth when it comes to this album. On the one hand the production here is often AMAZING, some of those beats are just: :ohlawd::whew::blessed:

Space Boogie :blessed::ohlawd:(Fredwreck was on his Dr. Dre shyt on this one)
On Da Grind :myman:
Cant Go Wrong :noah:
On Onsite :damn::whew:
The Hardest Motherfukkers:lawd:
Bring Back That G shyt:win:

The main problem here for me is Kurupt himself, his fall off compared to his death row days is undeniable here, often his lyrics on here are just complete bullshyt and dumbed down to an unbearable amount. If he wouldve actually brought his A Game lyrically on those tracks shyt wouldve been :damn::damn::banderas::ohlawd::blessed:. This way many of the songs still bang, but more because of the production and the guest features that outshine Kurupt on almost any single ocassion here. I mean just listen to "Hate On Me" and Kurupts whack ass retarded style fukk a bytch verse and you'll know exactly whats wrong with him here. Or that last track "fukk Tha World" where he spits some of the most confusing, senseless crap ever, like WTF is THIS:

nikka you want war? Yeah right, I'm mic sky like stiletto
Holocaust to high school, roscoe to Vasco
Impossible lives the hospitalized
Franchise strip nikkas is broke for ranches mansions avalanches
Alarms ring cause harm in court
Like platinum and gold
I've sold a whole, explosions hit explode implode
Popped out bodies dropped off on Rider's road
I've seen and foreseen the unseen
And able hardly able to separate the myths from fables
I'ma buy a Baltic while you purchase fireplaces
Poisonous supply and occupy in space

:what::what::what:

So what y'all think ?

Some of his best solo album songs are on here but after 'Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha...', I was expecting more.

'Can't Go Wrong' is a classic, DJ Quik on the beat and with a verse and Butch Cassidy on the hook;

I love this one with Daz;

Like someone else mentioned, Fred Wreck was definately on his Dr. Dre on this album;

A classic with Snoop and Goldie Loc;

But 'It's Over' was a really weird single to come out with.
The album didn't sound as cohesive as 'Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha...'

I have it but haven't given it a listen in years. After "Streetz", this came across as a disappointment tbh......but I fukks with it. Production was dope but still, "Streetz" is on another level. Best secondary purchase I ever made (bought Chronic 2001 the same day, picked it up as an afterthought).

Production is A1, Fredwreck and Daz did their thing. Can't go wrong with DPG features.

If he left out a couple of tracks it would go from a 4.25/5 to a 4.5/5.

Second best album after Streetz

Yeah a couple songs shouldve been cut for sure.
These here are some leftovers of the album I think:

Thesere are the bonus tracks from different editions of the album:

A lot of trash verses lyrically, but I like it. Production is fire, and some of those verses are still entertaining.

Why you hate
Bring back that G

:wow::wow::wow:

Hate On Me is a fukkin banger, dont know why but the production on that one is hypnotic as fukk.
Plus soopafly rips his verse :wow:
Damani is ok, but Kurupts verse sucks ass :mjlol:
Shouldve given that beat to somebody else like snoop or someone else from the dpg camp

GREAT production and guest appearances.

HORRIBLE lyrics from Kurupt...dude was on the decline post DR but after Streetz and Dillinger and Young Gotti he was finished

And that first single was hot garbage

Fred Wreck was the star of this album

Yeah you summed it up OP.

Fred wreck killed the production with his Dr Dre styled beats. Had some great features, particularly Nate, Butch Cassidy, and MC Ren.

Kurupt's flow was pretty well on point, but his shyt made no sense (just aimless drunken free styling).

Bottom line, Kurupt was never the same after the night he battled 2,000 MC's:mjcry:
