Crook a uniquely great talent. It's a shame his status in the game aint a bit higher.
I think his biggest mistake was not releasing original music, but instead chasing that big single and perfect album release date for years.
He thought he was gonna be a platinum artist with the perfect rollout, but his core fans would've supported if he would've just released music.
All of the delays led to both the hardcore & casual fans losing interest.
He built up a great buzz with the first Hip Hop Weekly series, but again fumbled the ball trying to release the perfect album & holding on to music.
But whatever he still gave us:
Young Boss Vol. 2 - Classic Tape
Static Kxng - Fire project front to back.
Sex, Money, & Hip Hip - Mostly dope with some throwaways.
Good vs. Evil - Mostly dope with even less throwaways
I'm a long beach nikka that been following Crooked I since 1998. Damn 1998
Wait over 20 damn years
I used tell nikkas he was greatest emcee on the planet.
