Nah, there's not enough talent in the league and too many teams for it to be interesting. As it is it feels like there's only like 10 teams worth watching, and maybe 3-4 who can realistically contend for the title.

There are about 9-10 teams that can content for a conference final (right now I'd say that would be MIA, CHI, IND, BKN, NY, OKC, SA, MEM, and maybe LA/LA or HOU depending on Howard)

There are like 12-15 teams that are primarily young and whose fans just want to see either improve or have a plan to improve in the future (this is why so many fans are happy to see teams blow up their rosters)

The rest of the teams are mired in mediocrity. But a team like Houston last year was popular with fans even though they had no shot to win a playoff series because the team was perceived as making moves. That's important in the NBA.

Ok....that sounds like the 80s

Yeah was too young to really follow the NBA back then tbh

I get what you're saying, tbh I kind of threw the number out there, but as of today (including the BK and NY moves, as well as various injuries), I would say that for myself, the teams that can contend for a title are Miami, SA, Indy (depending on what happens with Granger)

"Worth watching" teams that could maybe move in the first category (in no particular order): OKC (how does Westbrook come back), NY, LAL (how does Kobe comes back, Howard situation), LAC, HOU (Howard situation), GS, CHI (How does Rose come back), Mem, BK (how do they mesh together), Den...so yeah I'm at 13 teams "worth watching"...obviously it's very subjective...

I wanted OKC to get him. They need a deadly 3 point shooter.

:aicmon:

90s and early 00s you had the Knicks, Heat, Pacers, Bulls who were legitimate title contenders just in the East...add in the Rockets, Suns, Spurs, Lakers, Jazz out West and that's more than nowadays imo...not talking about eras I never witnessed.

I wasn't even comparing this era to other ones tho, just saying that TODAY there aren't many serious title contenders and a whole lot of bum teams or teams who are just "there", with no excitement to them and really going nowhere.

again....this is nothing new...especially for a league that's seen the LEAST amount of different franchises winning championships in the past 30 years.

Your point is extremely flawed.

If you're excited by Minnesota vs Charlotte or Atl vs Sac, great for you breh.:zzz::zzz:

You really feel that there's more talent now (or as much) as in the 00s or 90s? Don't want to make this a this era vs that era thread, but you really only have talent at a couple positions now (PG and Forward basically), Centers and PFs are all but extinct.
